Last Friday, the European Researchers Night of Science was organised in several countries and places across Europe.
Every year, the public can talk with researchers from all disciplines to discover new innovations and the problems and challenges researchers are facing every day.
For this occasion, Peugeot Sport and its partner Marelli took part to this Researchers’ Night of Science in the Science Museum of Milan that opened its door to the public.
Motorsport is a laboratory that allows to test high-tech innovations in various domains. Peugeot Sport exposed the PEUGEOT 9X8 showcar to illustrate during a conference the technologies developed that we can find on track in the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC). François Coudrain, Peugeot Sport PowerTrain director and Riccardo DeFilippi, Mareli Motorsport Director were there to answer questions from the public: “This event is a great opportunity to be together, with Marelli and Peugeot Sport, to talk about technology and to share our passion for motorsport and innovation with the people attending the event at the museum. This night is a great opportunity to educate a new audience who normally only have a rough idea of what is goeson behind the scenes of at a race. Here we have the opportunity to go a little bit more in detail and explain simply to help the public understand. This event is also important to create passion and interest for technology with young people that attend this event. We create high-tech technology to go racing but also to develop the road cars of the future and the collaboration with PEUGEOT is a true partnership. We are here together with the same passion, the same interest and the same goal which is winning on track facing a fierce competition.”
The conference ended with a Q&A with the public and showed their intrigue about the technology used on PEUGEOT 9X8. The electrification and hybrid system were highlighted points and their role in contributing to shape the future of both motorsport and road vehicles.
The two PEUGEOT 9X8 will be back on track in a few weeks for the FIA WEC finale in Bahrain on the 3rd and 4th November.
