Loïc Duval and Nico Müller traveled to Peugeot’s historic roots in Sochaux to meet employees of the Stellantis factory and visit the Peugeot Adventure Museum.
The Sochaux site employs over 6,000 people working in research and development as well as on the assembly line. This historic site for the Peugeot brand has produced both the first and most iconic models in the Lion’s history. Today, it is home to the production of the PEUGEOT 3008 and 5008.
Loïc and Nico were guided through the factory by Julien, head of assembly line maintenance. This was an opportunity for the drivers to explore the logistics and every step of the car assembly process. It was a fascinating visit that allowed them to understand the challenges faced by factories and to gain a deeper appreciation for the employees’ work.
A showcar was also present, displayed at the heart of the assembly plant, making it visible and accessible to all site employees. This was a special moment for workers who could take a closer look and ask the drivers questions. “It’s amazing to have the car and the drivers here. We’ve had this chance before, with Sébastien Loeb. We follow them all season, and being able to debrief with them at our workplace is such a privilege.”
The drivers left the factory in the middle of the afternoon to head to another iconic Peugeot location: the Peugeot Adventure Museum. Here, they had the chance to explore—or rediscover—collections that trace the brand’s history. The visit began at the workshop, where the drivers interacted with a passionate team restoring Peugeot vehicles from all generations. The meticulous and lengthy restoration process is truly impressive.
The tour continued into the motorsport section, where Hervé Charpentier recounted Peugeot’s glorious history in motorsport for the drivers and a few association volunteers who were present.
It was a day filled with meaningful encounters, where the drivers witnessed the deep attachment of Sochaux employees to the Peugeot brand and their passion for motorsport. A big thank you to all the teams for their warm welcome.
