24 HOURS OF LE MANS: A DEMANDING AND PRODUCTIVE TEST DAY FOR TEAM PEUGEOT TOTALENERGIES

The PEUGEOT 9X8s completed more than 2,000 kilometers on the 24 Hours of Le Mans Circuit, with all six Team Peugeot TotalEnergies drivers taking part in the running

Warmly received by the crowd during the traditional “Pesage” (administrative and technical checks) on Friday, and warmly applauded on Saturday during the parade of cars through the streets of Le Mans, Team Peugeot TotalEnergies then took part in the Test Day on Sunday 7 June.

This six-hour running session, split into two three-hour sessions, was used to evaluate different tyre compounds, work on set-ups, and validate several regulatory procedures (Safety Car, Slow Zones…). It also gave Nick Cassidy the opportunity to complete his ten mandatory rookie laps required for participation in the event.In the morning session, the PEUGEOT 9X8 #93 (Di Resta/Vandoorne/Cassidy) completed 36 laps (490 km), while the #94 (Duval/Pourchaire/Jakobsen) covered 30 laps (408 km), with both cars dipping under the 3:30 mark.

In the afternoon, the two PEUGEOT 9X8s continued their test program, completing further running and various development items. Stoffel Vandoorne set a 3:27.208 in the #93, while Loïc Duval posted a 3:27.990 in the #94. Overall, it was a highly productive day, marked by a strong data collection effort, bringing total mileage beyond 2,000 km.

Team Peugeot TotalEnergies now looks ahead to the rest of the week with determination, with the first official sessions scheduled from Wednesday 10 June (Free Practice 1, Qualifying and Free Practice 2), followed by the Drivers’ Parade on Friday and the start of the 94th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on Saturday 13 June at 16:00.

In testing, it is always very difficult to gauge ourselves against the competition, but we can see it is extremely tight, even more so than last year. We will see whether today’s order is confirmed in the coming days.”

“We ticked off quite a lot of boxes and didn’t experience any major issues. I had a lot of traffic this afternoon, which made things quite tricky on track, but it was good race preparation! Overall, I’m satisfied I was able to build confidence and we did a solid job.”
