•            After two consecutive podiums in Texas and Japan, Team Peugeot TotalEnergies is looking to keep the momentum going at the 8 Hours of Bahrain.

•            Having first discovered the PEUGEOT 9X8 during last year’s Bahrain Rookie Test, Théo Pourchaire will make his race debut at the Sakhir circuit at the wheel of the #94.

•            A Peugeot TotalEnergies driver since the brand’s return to endurance racing in 2022, Mikkel Jensen hopes to close his PEUGEOT 9X8 chapter in style.

Sixth in São Paulo, third in Austin, and second in Fuji after leading 30% of the race — Team Peugeot TotalEnergies has been on an upward trajectory since the summer. The team now aims to keep that positive dynamic going at the 8 Hours of Bahrain, where the Lions leapt onto the podium last year.

“This will be our fourth participation in this long and demanding event — tough on both the cars and the drivers — held on a very abrasive 5.412 km circuit where tire management is crucial,” explains Olivier Jansonnie, Technical Director of Peugeot Sport.

Last year, the #93 PEUGEOT 9X8 climbed from 18th to 3rd place thanks to an exceptional performance from the Jensen/Müller/Vergne trio and a flawless strategy from Team Peugeot TotalEnergies. One year after that remarkable comeback, Mikkel Jensen will contest his 26th and final race at the wheel of the PEUGEOT 9X8.

“Mikkel has been with us since the very beginning of Team Peugeot TotalEnergies’ FIA WEC journey in 2022,” says Jean-Marc Finot, Senior VP of Stellantis Motorsport. “He helped build this project, always stood firm during challenging times, and, together with his teammates, delivered three world-level podiums. I want to thank him for his consistent performance and professionalism throughout these four years.”

Meanwhile, French driver Théo Pourchaire (22) will make his race debut in the PEUGEOT 9X8, which he first drove exactly a year ago during the Bahrain Rookie Test. The 2023 F2 Champion will team up with Malthe Jakobsen and Loïc Duval in the #94.

“I’m very happy to be contesting my first FIA WEC race with Peugeot. I feel ready. I’ve spent a lot of time in the simulator throughout the year, and I’ve also attended several races — such as São Paulo and Austin — as a test driver, which allowed me to take part in meetings with the drivers and engineers.”

The 2025 8 Hours of Bahrain will begin on Thursday, November 6, with two 90-minute Free Practice sessions. The following day, after a third 60-minute session, the 18 Hypercar prototypes will have 12 minutes of Qualifying to fight for a top-10 spot and access to the coveted Hyperpole. The 101st FIA WEC endurance race — and final round of the 2025 season — will start on Saturday, November 8, at 14:00 local time (13:00 CEST).

On Sunday, November 9, Team Peugeot TotalEnergies will take part in the Bahrain Test with Nick Cassidy, Mathias Beche, and Alexander Quinn driving the PEUGEOT 9X8.

Jean-Marc Finot, Senior VP of Stellantis Motorsport

“Team Peugeot TotalEnergies arrives in Bahrain with great momentum after two consecutive podiums in the U.S. and Japan. We want to continue proving our competitiveness and end our best ever FIA World Endurance Championship season on a high note — though we know nothing is ever guaranteed in motorsport. Mikkel Jensen will take part in his final race with the #93 PEUGEOT 9X8, and the entire team wishes him the best for the next chapter of his career. Théo Pourchaire will make his race debut in the #94 — he has already shown his potential in testing, and the whole team will be behind him as we prepare for 2026.”

Malthe Jakobsen (PEUGEOT 9X8 #94)

“It’s already the final race of the season — a fantastic year for me, especially with my first world podium in Austin. We’ll give everything to finish on the podium again in Bahrain, to end the season in the best possible way and kick-start 2026 on a strong note. Théo joins us in the #94 and brings fresh energy — that’s great for the team.”
